The Warsaw Community Building overlooks downtown and Drake Harbor. Besides housing City government, the Community Building provides public restrooms for visitors and a downtown center for special events, such as live music shows.

Visitors can picnic, play baseball, tennis or a game of their choice in Lay Park, just northwest of downtown Warsaw. Lay Park is the center of the Warsaw Park System, and has a wonderful view of the waterfront.

Warsaw is now available to visitors by air. Warsaw Municipal Airport accommodates private planes and hangar facilities.

(Benton County Courthouse)

Warsaw is the County seat for Benton County, Missouri. At the center of the town square is the Benton County Courthouse, home to the County offices and courtroom.

The Benton County jail was originally built in 1856, as a branch of the Merchant Bank of St. Louis. The bank closed during the Civil War; and in 1912, the building was purchased by Benton County Court, and converted into a jail and used as such since that time.

The Benton County Museum sits on top of “Schoolhouse” hill off Van Buren Street. Located in a building that was built in 1886 as a two-story, four room schoolhouse, the Benton County Historical Society maintains the museum for visitors to enjoy.

The Warsaw Branch of Boonslick Regional Library is now located in their new facility at 102 E. Jackson; with more than double the space, the Library now includes a coffee shop, meeting room facilities, research room, and children’s section.

(Lost Valley Fish Hatchery)
|
Opened in October 2000, Lost Valley Fish Hatchery is the largest hatchery built in Missouri.

The Nicholas Tavern, which was later Newman’s Hotel and is currently Reser Funeral Home, was used in pre-Civil War days as a daily mail stop by the Butterfield Stage Pony Express.
